ARCHITECT, ENGINEER AND CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTING

Length: 5 Day(s) | Units: 4.0 CEUs | Cost: $1391.00

This in-depth course is for procurement officials, construction lawyers, senior field engineers, senior project architects and engineers that design projects, develop architect-engineer and construction contracts, and manage construction. It explains the mysteries and jargon of all the contracts, from cradle to grave, required for a construction project. Legal myths will be exposed and exploded. Lawyers and contract professionals that have “muddy boots” experience in real construction lead classes. We approach construction contracting from a nuts and bolts flavor. This course is not laden with legal terms. Rather, the participant will understand engineering and construction law so that he or she can effectively manage contracts, subcontractors, procurement, and understand the labor and safety issues. This comprehensive five-day course enables the participant to deal effectively with the numerous individuals involved with the legal aspects of the construction process. The contracting and legal processes are addressed in a life-cycle fashion for ease of comprehension. All aspects of project contracts are covered while focusing on traditional design-bid-build, construction management, fast tracking, design/build, specialty systems and cost reimbursable contract forms.
