Job Safety Analysis + Operating Procedures = Standard Operating Procedures or Total Job Analysis

Hazard Recognition (1/2 hour)

This course is intended to raise the operational personnels situational awareness about the everyday hazards found in their workplace, such as: slips, trips, spills and etc.  Hazard  recoonition and reorganization is the first step in the hazard avoidance of an effective safety program.  This program is usually taught in conjunction with Effective Inspections.   

Effective Inspections (1/2 hour)

This course is the second step in a safety program.  Once the task of "Hazard Recognition" has been mastered the next step is to develop an Effective Inspection program.  This course educates the employee on how to develop a program of inspection and documentation with a check list of recognized work place hazards.  The course covers properly documented inspections, frequency of inspections and etc.  At this point the safety programs are taking a proactive role.  Area specific inspection checklists promote consistency and employee involvement

Job Safety Analysis (2 hours)

This program educates the attendees on the proper mythology for analyzing job tasks to identify the risks associated with each step of those tasks.  Next they are shown the proper ways to document the identified risks.  Finally, all the identified documented risks are incorporated into final written operational procedure that incorporate safety into written procedures by identifying the risks in each step of a task.
